Star halfback Nicho Hynes has been ruled out Saturday night’s do-or-die semi final between the Sharks and Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

Hynes copped the hit to the head while going low to make a tackle on Salesi Foketi, who ended up making a linebreak and marching down field to play his part in the Roosters’ first try.

Hynes looked dazed as he tried to get to his feet before he was taken off for a HIA.

It was judged to be a Category 2 HIA so Hynes had 15 minutes to prove his fitness but he didn’t appear to be in good shape.

“Nicho Hynes looked to be in Disneyland,” caller Dan Ginnane said.

Hynes failed his HIA which wasn’t surprising.

Hynes lasted just three minutes and will likely be forced to miss next week’s preliminary final against the Dolphins if the Sharks win tonight and progress through to week three of the finals series.

“That is a huge, huge blow,” Greg Alexander said on Fox League.
