The 2027 Super Netball rosters are taking shape, with plenty of player movement still to come.
Only four clubs opted to sign players from within during the first contract period – the West Coast Fever, NSW Swifts, Sunshine Coast Lightning and Melbourne Mavericks.
But the other four teams have opted to wait for the final contracting period that runs to August 28 – where athletes can be signed to multi-year deals.
So who goes where? Fox Netball has every club’s 2027 list.

AUG 17 – STAR DEFENDER ANNOUNCES HER DECISION
Star defender Rudi Ellis has confirmed she’s played her last game for the Melbourne Vixens.
Taking to social media on Monday afternoon, Ellis conceded: “This one hurts”.
“It’s with a heavy heart I announce my departure from the Melbourne Vixens,” she posted.
“To the club and Simone, thank you for believing in me. From a gangly teenage training partner, to three incredible seasons as a team and to last year’s extra special premiership win – I will forever be grateful for the opportunity you gave me to be part of something so amazing.
“To the girls, wow, I’m going to miss you all. I’m incredibly lucky to have formed the friendships I have with each and every one of you. What a ride we have all been on these last three years, and to have the privilege of holding that premiership trophy with you all, will forever be one of my proudest moments.”
Ellis thanked her family, friends and the Vixens fans for the support.
“While the door has closed for me, the Vixens will always have a special place in my heart … and tattoo on my foot. I’m excited for a new opportunity to continue growing as a player and person.”
Ellis is set to announce her new home for 2027.
The Firebirds meantime have announced their first signing for 2027, with midcourter Lara Dunkley returning.
“This club means so much to me and I can’t wait to wear the purple, represent my teammates and give everything I’ve got for this club and everyone who supports us,” she said.
And the Sunshine Coast Lightning have locked in their fifth player for next season, with Kiwi skipper Karin Burger returning for a second year.
While there is confusion over exactly how long Burger has signed for, given the club states it’s a two-year deal but says she’s signed until the end of 2027, the Kiwi star is just happy to be back.
“I’m excited for what’s next, especially having Laura Langman in our coaching team,” she said.
“Bringing in that level of experience and expertise, I think will really make an impact on how we play.
“Our defensive end is strong and will just keep getting better and better.”
Burger’s signature means half of the Lightning’s team is locked away – at a time where some clubs including reigning premiers Adelaide and the Giants are yet to announce a single player.
Fox Netball has reached out to the Lightning to confirm if it’s a multi-year deal for Burger.

AUG 17 – VIXENS YOUNG GUN SNUBS NEW DEAL
The Melbourne Vixens have confirmed the departure of rising star Zara Walters.
The midcourter has opted to take up a new deal elsewhere for next season after fighting for court time behind the likes of Kate Moloney and Hannah Mundy.
“I am forever grateful to the Vixens for giving me the opportunity to live out my childhood dream,” Walters said.
“I am grateful to leave with lifelong friends, not just teammates, and feel privileged to have played alongside them.”
Walters is a Victorian pathway product, the club’s 2024 Rookie of the Year and an Australian 21/U and 19/U squad member, and departs as a premiership winner at the Vixens.
Walters’ new home for 2027 is expected to be announced imminently.
The Vixens weren’t the only club to lose a rising young player on Monday – with confirmation Adelaide’s 11th player Lucy Voyvodic turned her back on a new deal.
Voyvodic has advised the club she will be accepting an offer elsewhere in 2027.
“Lucy has come through the Netball SA pathway and continued to develop in our Thunderbirds environment,” Tbirds high performance manager Pitre Bourdon said.
“We’re disappointed to not continue working together, but we respect her decision and wish her all the very best for her next chapter.”
AUG 17 – DEALS DONE ACROSS FOUR CLUBS
The West Coast Fever have announced the Aryang sisters are staying, while the Melbourne Mavericks, NSW Swifts and Sunshine Coast Lightning all continued their signing sprees.
The four clubs were the only teams to lock away athletes during the first week of the contract period.
And the deals kept coming on Monday.
Shimona Nelson has recommitted to the Mavericks, describing the club as “home”.
“From the moment I arrived, I’ve felt supported by the players, coaches, staff and our amazing fans,” she said.
“We’ve built something really special over the past few years, and I genuinely believe we’re only scratching the surface of what this group can achieve.
“To be part of the club’s most successful season so far and make history together was so special. I can’t wait to get back to work with this group and keep pushing for even bigger things in the seasons to come.”
The NSW Swifts confirmed their fourth signing for 2027 with Grace Whyte returning.
Still just 21, Whyte returns as the club’s reigning MVP winner in an astonishing rise through Super Netball’s ranks.
“Grace has developed significantly during her time at the Swifts and we’re delighted she’ll continue her journey with us,” coach Dylan Nexhip said.
“She’s an exceptional competitor who wants to improve every single day. She embraces feedback, puts in the work and has the confidence to take on big moments.
“She’s a terrific example of what our pathways can produce and we’re excited to keep investing in her development because we know her best netball is still ahead of her.”
The Sunshine Coast Lightning have also added their fourth player for 2027 with Leesa MiMi committing to next season.
“Leesa has already shown us that she has amazing talent and we can’t wait to see her continue to get better and better in 2027 and beyond,” coach Belinda Reynolds said.
“We’ve already seen her develop so much over the last four years and we see her as a key part of our next successful group.”
And the Fever become the fourth club to lock in four players, with both Aryang sisters Sunday and Ruth returning.
While Sunday is battling her way back from her ACL injury sustained in last year’s Constellation Cup, Ruth made her mark in 2026 after overcoming her achilles injury.
“The re-signing of the Aryang Sisters is a key component of our defensive end,” Fever’s general manager Sara Francis-Bayman said, describing the duo as a “potential Diamonds combination”.
“We’ve backed them after a couple of difficult seasons and we believe they are vital cogs in our drive to a second premiership.
“They defend ferociously and they have the ability to win the ball at crucial stages.”
