Farnworth may be contracted to the Dolphins until the end of 2027 but whispers linking him with a move to Bondi continue to circulate.
One of the NRL’s premier centres on a reported salary of nearly $1 million per season, he is a valuable member of the Dolphins squad but his time at the club could potentially soon come to an end.
While Farnworth has admitted in the past that his desire was to ink a new contract with his current club, he remains free to speak with rival clubs from November 1
This has led CODE Sports reporter Brent Read to believe, if he hits the open market the Dolphins could struggled to keep hold of him beyond next season.
It is understood if this is the case, the Roosters are the frontrunners for his signature.
“The Herbie rumours won’t go away,” Read said on Triple M’s The Journos.
“He’s the interesting one because the whispers won’t go away (between him and the Roosters).
“I’m sure they are trying to extend Herbie but if he gets to November 1 forget about it. He’s gone “

ANOTHER DRAGON SET FOR THE EXIT DOORS
The roster overhaul at the St George Illawarra Dragons is set to continue with another member of their Top 30 roster set for the exit doors.
According to Love Rugby League, Blake Lawrie has found himself offered to multiple teams in the Super League competition.
This comes as he runs off-contract at the Red V at the end of the season and has yet to secure a new deal for next year.
While no club has yet to confirm an interest in Lawrie, he could easily end up at either the Bradford Bulls, Catalans Dragons, Hull FC, Leeds Rhinos or Warrington Wolves given that they are need of a front-rower heading into next season.
The 29-year-old has played 169 matches for the Dragons in the NRL since his debut in 2017.
However, with the younger crop of forwards such as Hamish Stewart and the Couchman brothers coming through the ranks, he has found himself overlooked and relegrated to NSW Cup.
