Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis looked to make history when he challenged Xander Zayas for the WBA/WBO super welterweight titles from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y..
Ennis did exactly what he said he’d do, knocking Zayas down three times, including one last time in the seventh round, to become the king of the mountain at 154 pounds.

He captured the belts by TKO at the 1:49 mark of the seventh round.
DAZN News had the fight scored 59-53 for Ennis at the time of the stoppage.
Ennis was a former unified welterweight champion and debuted at super welterweight in October.
Zayas won the WBO title from Jorge Garcia Perez in July 2025 – it was stripped from Sebastian Fundora at that time, after he won it from Tim Tszyu – and added the WBA belt with a split decision win over Abass Baraou in January.
