It hasn’t been the greatest last couple of days for the Tigers, but Bula’s re-signing is sure to quell any pain for the club’s passionate fanbase.
Bula has put pen to paper on a new deal which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2030 season.
The 24-year-old has been one of, if not, the club’s best players this season.
The confirmation of Bula’s extension comes a week after Tigers co-captain Jarome Luai announced he’d be leaving at the end of the 2027 season to join PNG.
There have been concerns over the past 12 months that Bula could head elsewhere. However, the Fijian international is loving what is building at the Tigers.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunity to remain with the Tigers for the next four seasons,” Bula said via a club-issued statement.
“The culture and connection that we have as a group is special, and I’m excited to be part of what we’re building. I love being here and I’m looking forward to growing my game under Benji and helping bring the Club success.”
“Jahream is someone who brings a lot to our group on and off the field with his leadership and influence,” coach Benji Marshall said.
“He’s humble, hardworking and a great character to have around. I’ve really enjoyed seeing him grow in confidence and have great belief in what he can bring us over the next four years. We’re so happy to have Jahream and his family remain with us until 2030.”
The Bulldogs were heavily linked to the talented No. 1 with Phil Gould publicly expressing his admiration for Bula.
Even as recent as last week, Code Sports’ Brent Read suggested contract talks with the Tigers had stalled.
“I don’t think (a decision is fast approaching). They’ve been locked in talks over an extension and it hasn’t happened and that suggests to me it probably won’t happen before the deadline in two weeks,” Read said on NRL 360.
