Just when Game Two of the NBL Grand Final series felt like it could not get any more explosive, fresh drama has emerged with reports that Sydney Kings assistant coach Andrew Bogut and Adelaide 36ers owner Grant Kelley came face to face in an intense post-game moment.

As first reported by Nine’s Will Crouch, Andrew Bogut and Kelley were reportedly involved in an incident following Adelaide’s dramatic win.

“There’s been another incident involving Andrew Bogut following Adelaide’s buzzer-beating win in the NBL Championship,” Crouch posted on X.

“Understand he unleashed a tirade of profanities at owner Grant Kelley in the player’s race following Sydney’s one-point loss.”

It comes after months of tension between Bogut and the 36ers, following his claims that key figures within the Adelaide organisation had met to discuss the future of coach Mike Wells.

“Pretty wild league where the ‘leaders’ of your team meet to chat about firing your Head Coach, whilst you sit in 1st place on the NBL Ladder, with only a handful of games to go until the playoffs!” Bogut posted on X.

Those comments eventually drew a response from Kelley, who said the club was “a thousand per cent” behind Wells.

The reported confrontation only added to a fiery night, after Bryce Cotton and Kendric Davis also came face to face following Cotton’s game-winner, with the pair exchanging words in a heated aftermath as the series was locked at 1-1.

Now, with the Grand Final series heading back to Sydney for Game Three on Sunday, the tension is rising on every front.

This rivalry is boiling over, the storylines are building by the minute, and with a 2-1 series lead on the line, Game Three shapes as an absolute must-watch.
