For the Sydney Kings, Game One was a historic moment for the club, but they may have lost one of their key role players for the remainder of the series.

Late in the fourth quarter, Jaylin Galloway checked out of the game after a rebounding contest with Matt Kenyon, with the Kings forward immediately clutching at his shoulder as he landed.

He did not run back on the ensuing play, was quickly taken out of the game and did not return.

While being attended to by trainers, Galloway appeared to say, “I heard a pop”.

Galloway has endured an unfortunate run with shoulder injuries throughout both his NBL and NBA career, making the incident an immediate concern for Sydney.

While there has been no official word from the club yet, Galloway’s reaction and his injury history suggest it could be a worrying blow and a slight dampener on an otherwise emphatic Kings victory.
