Shock twist from weigh-in casts new questions over blockbuster fight

Conor Benn has come in heavier than Chris Eubank Jr. for their rematch this weekend, in a surprise twist for the pair’s hotly awaited clash.

The duo roll it back again for a second time this year tomorrow at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With a three-division gap between the super-middleweight Eubank Jr. and welterweight Benn, both bouts have been made at middleweight.

The former famously missed weight amid furious back-and-forth dialogue over a rehydration clause before his victory over the latter in April.

This time around however, it is latter who has tipped the scales at 159.2 lbs, two-tenths of a pound heavier than his bitter rival. at 159.1 lbs.

Eubank Jr. has taken a different approach to his weight cut this time around, after falling foul of sanctions before the original fight took place.

Benn meanwhile is at a career-heaviest number, with Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn telling The Ring: “Conor looked great, amazing.

“But he is quite a bit heavier than last time. He just really filled out in this training camp and both guys look in tremendous shape.”

The star has indicated this will be his final bout before a return to welterweight, as he reportedly pursues title fight opportunities in 2026.
