Don’t quit your day job, Lynchy.
That’s the clear view of Australian boxing star Liam Paro, who was at least willing to give AFL great Alastair Lynch a 10/10 rating “for heart” in his infamous 2004 Grand Final fight.
After a tremendous career Lynch went out swinging, trading haymakers with Port Adelaide defender Darryl Wakelin before and during the premiership decider, in one of the most iconic moments in modern Grand Final history.

Lynch, who was retiring after the game, copped a 10-week suspension and a $15,000 fine for his part in the fight, something the three-time premiership player told Fox Footy’s Open Mike “was undoubtedly the most regrettable time of my career.”
But the Brisbane champion was able to see the funny side of it when he showed ex-world champion Paro the infamous clip ahead of Paro’s huge fight against undefeated French title contender David Papot on Thursday night.
“There’s a little bit to work on, but I’ll give you a ten for heart!” Paro quipped.
Lynch nervously laughed as the clip rolled on, declaring: “I had no idea what’s going on here. Oh no!”
But a generous Paro replied: “You’ve got the upper hand there. I’ll give it to ya. Win’s a win!”
