Liz Cambage has found herself involved in yet another unsavoury incident on the basketball court that saw her ejected from a game in China over the weekend.
Cambage recently joined the Sichuan Yuanda women’s team based in Chengdu, earning more than $1 million for a three-month cameo in the local league in China.

And Cambage’s stint in China has had its first major controversy after she was kicked out of a game following two flagrant fouls that took out opposing players.
In game two of the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association finals between Sichuan and Inner Mongolia, Cambage lashed out in ugly fashion.
First, she whacked an opposition player in the face and over the neck, sending her crashing to the ground.
Cambage also elbowed a player from Inner Mongolia flush in the face while contesting a rebound.

The 32-year-old was subsequently ejected from the game, but she insisted officials review replay footage.
In a theatrical exit from the court, Cambage shouted at a referee directly in his face, skipped along the baseline and bowed to the crowd before making her way down the tunnel.
Cambage’s Sichuan team lost the game 96-85 as Inner Mongolia levelled the series 1-1.
Footage of the incidents prompted widespread condemnation of Cambage.
ESPN’s Steve Smith wrote on X: “Liz Cambage ejected with two flagrant fouls in G2 of the WCBA Finals. That second one in particular was very bad. And then of course had to put on a show as she left. Clown behaviour.”
Sport reporter Vince Rugari said: “Can’t work out why nobody can cop her anywhere.”
Cambage sensationally quit the Australian team and failed spectacularly in trying to be registered to represent Nigeria following the scandalous fallout to her axing from Australia’s Tokyo Olympics campaign on the eve of the tournament.
Cambage was famously dumped by the Aussie team after allegedly telling Nigerian players to “go back to their third world country” during a scrimmage ahead of the 2021 Games.
Cambage has repeatedly denied the allegations, despite numerous separate confirmations she made the comment — including from former Opals captain Jenna O’Hea.
She has made good so far on her promise to never represent Australia again.
Cambage’s career had been stalled after she effectively ended her WNBA career when she walked out on the Los Angeles Sparks in 2022.
She most recently joined Israel-based club Maccabi Bnot Ashdod last year.
Cambage appeared to confirm the insane value of her new contract with Sichuan when she posted an Instagram story in November that said: “1 milly then I’ll perform” — while sharing a photo of a news report about her new $1 million contract.
The Opals have qualified for the Paris Olympics and will be aiming to return to the podium following a disappointing early exit in Tokyo in the wake of the Cambage scandal.
