With Luka Doncic sidelined for the Mavericks due to the birth of his daughter, Josh Green is making the most of his opportunities.

At half-time of Dallas’ clash with Memphis on Saturday (all times AEDT), Green had a team-high 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting, one three-pointer, two rebounds, two assists and 2 steals in 18 minutes in a starting role.

It included some highlight plays from the Aussie.

Late in the first quarter, Green went behind the back, wove through a host of Grizzlies defenders and made a tough layup for an and-one.

Then early in the second term, Green stole a pass from Ziaire Williams, dribbled full court and threw down a thunderous slam.

“Mr Electricity – plug him in! He is providing all kinds of voltage for the Mavericks right now,” the Bally Sports Southwest commentator exclaimed.

It continues a promising fourth NBA season from the 23-year old, who’s consolidated his spot as a key role player in Jason Kidd’s rotation.

Unfortunately though, the shorthanded Mavericks, who were also without Tim Hardaway Jr., trailed the 4-13 Memphis by 15 at the main break 59-44.

Desmond Bane led all scorers with 18 as the Griz search for back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

MORE TO COME.
