Tim Tszyu boasts a ‘walk forward’ fight style that would see him not only beaten by American superstars Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jnr, but stopped — and likely KO’d — as he runs right into their powerhouse hands.
This is the opinion of leading US trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, who has shrugged off a push by Team Tszyu to eventually challenge one, and possibly both of the world boxing stars sometime in 2024.
His brutal analysis of the Soul Taker comes as Jermell Charlo’s trainer also revealed he has never watched Tszyu fight and has no issue with his charge choosing to again bypass the Aussie who he has already twice withdrawn from throwing down against.

As first revealed by Fox Sports Australia last week, promoters No Limit are currently in discussions to have Tszyu defend his WBO super welterweight title in Las Vegas on March 2 – and less than 24 hours before the NRL has its own hyped season launch in the same city.
As part of the promotion, Tszyu would top a unique ‘Australia versus America’ fight card that includes countrymen like Sam Goodman, Liam Wilson and younger brother Nikita Tszyu.
While an opponent for Tszyu has yet to be finalised, the undefeated Sydneysider has spoken many times of his ‘John Wick’ hitlist boasting names like Crawford, Spence and, of course, Jermell Charlo – who holds the division’s three other major titles.
Yet while Tszyu now chases some of the sport’s biggest names – especially after earning three big wins this year against Tony Harrison, Carlos Ocampo and Brian Mendoza – the trainer who corners Crawford disagrees.
Speaking about Tszyu taking on the welterweight king should he choose to move up in 2024, BoMac shrugged of his charge: “He’ll stop Tim Tszyu.
“Terence would stop Tim Tszyu and Errol would stop Tim Tszyu.”
Spence finishes Tszyu?
“Yeah, he’ll stop him,” McIntyre continued of the fighter Crawford beat back in July, to be crowned undisputed welterweight champ.
“He (Tszyu) is a come forward fighter.
“He would run right into Spence’s hands. Run right into his hands.”
Told by the interviewer that the undefeated Aussie was on something of a hot streak, McIntyre continued: “I don’t give a damn.
“That’s the type of style Spence like.
“You know what I’m saying?
“Come forward. It would make his work easier
“He’ll cut the job in half.
“That’s my opinion y’all.”

Elsewhere, and in a separate interview recently, Charlo’s trainer Derrick James said he had never watched Tszyu fight, and had no issue with his fighter brushing the challenger who he has already twice withdrawn against.
Asked initially if following Charlo’s recent loss to Canelo Alvarez, he now needed to go back down to super welterweight and redeem himself, James said: “It’s all for himself.
“It’s not so much about redeeming himself for everyone else, because you can’t live for other people.
“But at the same time if he wants to do it for himself, it’s on him.
“If he don’t care about Tim Tszyu, don’t care about Tim Tszyu.
“But if he wants to, go get it.”
So as for his thoughts about Tszyu’s win over Mendoza?
“I didn’t watch it,” James said.
“This is what happens … I watch the people that we fight and I watch the big fights.
“So if he’s not fighting in a big fight I may not watch it, may not see it.
“But I saw a little bit of Tony Harrison.
“I walked in right as he knocked him out.”
While Tszyu has only just returned from an overseas holiday, younger brother Nikita is now only days out from challenging Australian super welterweight champion Dylan Biggs.
The Newcastle Entertainment Centre bout takes place on Wednesday November 22, with the undefeated Biggs being billed as easily the toughest test so far for the younger Tszyu sibling.
