Collingwood vice-captain Taylor Adams is reportedly exploring interest from the Sydney Swans ahead of this year’s trade period.

7 NEWS‘ Mitch Cleary reported on Friday that the Swans are targeting Adams following his grand final heartbreak and after his midfield minutes dropped significantly this year.

The 30-year-old has one year remaining on his current deal at Collingwood.

The Swans will be one of the most active clubs in this year’s trade period with Melbourne winger James Jordon already secured as a free agent signing. His teammate Brodie Grundy is set to join him at the Swans after being squeezed out of the Demons ruck set-up despite having four years remaining on his contract.

Veteran Dockers defender Joel Hamling also appears to be heading to the harbour city in a bid to reignite his career that has become crippled by injuries in recent seasons.

The Swans have ambitions to beef-up their midfield having previously registered interest in Crows’ inside mid Matt Crouch before he recommitted to the club on a two-year deal. The Swans also have interest in out-of favour Blue Paddy Dow who is deciding between St Kilda and the Swans as to where he wants to play his football next season and beyond.

Adams started his career at the GWS Giants, playing 31 games for the club before securing a trade to the Magpies where he has played a further 175 games for Collingwood.
