SPURS EYE LATE SWOOP FOR CHELSEA MIDFIELDER

According to multiple reports in the UK, Tottenham could make a late bid for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The 23-year-old is reportedly aware of the interest from Postecoglou’s Spurs, although no formal bid had been lodged by early Thursday evening (AEST).

The Telegraphreports that any deal likely hinges on whether Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg departs the club.

Gallagher has been sought after this trade period with a £40million ($78m) offer from West Ham being rejected earlier in the window.

The Telegraph reports that a bid near £50million (A$98m) could pry the England international from West London.

His preference is said to be to remain at Stamford Bridge although he’s aware his playing time could be impacted this season, while the option to remain in London could play into Spurs’ hands.

LIVERPOOL BRACE FOR IMPROVED $294M SALAH BID

Liverpool’s resolve will be seriously tested as a Saudi Arabian club prepares one final bid for Mohamed Salah.

According to the Daily Mail, Al Ittihad is preparing an eye-watering £118 million ($AUD231 million) offer for the Egyptian superstar, with Salah viewed as the crown jewel in the Saudi Pro League’s growth.

A source, however, later told Sky Sports that the Saudis could be working on increasing that deal to a staggering £150 million (A$294m).

The publication reports that the Saudis are intent on testing Salah’s loyalty to Liverpool despite reports that he will stay.

Liverpool have held a strong stance throughout the window Salah will not be leaving any time soon, but the Daily Mail claims Saudi chiefs have “received encouragement” the winger could be open to hearing what they have to offer.

A sale of Salah would no doubt derail Liverpool’s campaign and leave them with very little time to find a replacement for their talisman.

If Salah were to join Al Ittihad, we would be reunited with former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho while also linking up with N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema.

SPURS’ BOLD BID FOR BARCA YOUNG GUN HIJACKED BY RIVALS

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is hoping to squeeze in one more attacking edition before the transfer window slams shut.

Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson has been heavily linked, but Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati recently emerged as a key target.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has since reported a Premier League rival has hijacked the move.

Brighton have seemingly won the race to bring Fati to the Premier League, with Romano claiming the 20-year-old will join on loan.

Fati made his Barcelona debut at just 16 years and 298 days in 2019 and has gone on to make 80 appearances in all competitions since.

LIVERPOOL’S MIDFIELD REVAMP SET TO GAIN A NEW FACE?

Liverpool’s midfield revolution could welcome yet another member.

According to The Telegraph, Jurgen Klopp’s side are hoping to snap up Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch, although no bid has been lodged as of yet.

The report claims the Dutch international is also keen on the move as he looks to receive some much-needed game time, with Bayern hoping to net a transfer fee of £35 million.

Liverpool’s midfield has undergone a major revamp this summer, with Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all departing either for a transfer fee or having been released.

Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo have all arrived at Anfield and Klopp sees Gravenberch as the final piece of his midfield puzzle.

CHELSEA’S SPENDING SHOWS NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN

It’s been two massive transfer windows for Chelsea in terms of expenditure, but it seems they are not done yet.

ESPN reports the Blues have agreed a £45 million fee with Manchester City to sign talented youngster Cole Palmer.

The England under-21 international has risen through the ranks at the club’s academy and scored City’s equaliser in the latest edition of the UEFA Super Cup.

He made several appearances off the bench last season and looked destined to play a larger role in this campaign, but City evidently view the fee as too good to turn down and helps with their FFP.

Should the deal go through, Palmer would become Chelsea’s 12th signing of the summer.
