New details emerged on Monday about the sudden death of WWE superstar Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, died last Thursday from a heart attack at the age of 36, the New York Post reports.

Wyatt had been taking a nap at the time, according to law enforcement records obtained by TMZ, and his fiancee, former WWE ring announcer JoJo Offerman, became worried when she heard his alarm going off an hour later without stopping.

Wyatt was found in his bed not breathing and “turning blue,” according to the report.

Offerman’s mother attempted CPR while Offerman called 911.

Wyatt was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The tragic incident occurred months after Wyatt had COVID-19 and developed heart complications from it.

Doctors had recommended to Wyatt that he keep a heart defibrillator with him.

While it’s unclear if it would have saved Wyatt’s life, the defibrillator was not on him when he died and it was later found inside his vehicle in the driveway, according to TMZ.

Wyatt had been hospitalised for a heart issue a week before he died.

He had actually met with doctors the morning that he died, in which they recommended he continue to wear the external heart defibrillator.

The news of Wyatt’s passing had first been reported by WWE’s head of creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

“Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today,” Triple H wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

“Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.”

Wyatt had been with the company since 2009 and rose through the ranks, performing in the developmental promotions FCW and NXT.

He was promoted to the main roster in 2012 and became a three-time world champion in WWE.
