Dolphins enforcer fails HIA in brutal blow as Raiders star suffers same fate: NRL Casualty Ward

Dolphins star Felise Kaufusi failed his HIA in a major blow for the team in their clash against the Brisbane Broncos.

Kaufusi suffered the injury early on in the contest and was substituted off in the 17th minute for Euan Aitken to undergo further tests.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins enforcer, he failed his HIA and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Raiders prop Pasami Saulo, the replacement for the injured Josh Papalii, left the field for a HIA and did not return for Canberra.

The Storm copped a blow early in the second half of their clash with the Panthers when in-form winger Will Warbrick copped a knock.

He was taken from the field and ruled to have category one symptoms, meaning he did not return to the field and comes under the mandatory 11-day stand-down.

FOX LEAGUE PODCAST – MICHAEL MORGAN

Cowboys legend Michael Morgan opens up on the injury that forced him into early retirement — and the doubts he had over the decision. He also relives his iconic flick pass in the 2015 NRL Grand Final and filling Johnathan Thurston’s shoes in 2017.

The Storm have a bye next week, so he could be available for their next clash in Round 20.

Meanwhile, in the same game Panthers lost workhorse forward Scott Sorensen, who picked up a neck injury.

“He jarred his neck but they are saying he is OK,” sideline reporter Jake Duke said.

The Sharks’ 52-16 rout of the Dragons has come at a price, with forwards Dale Finucane (suspension) and Braden Hamlin-Uele (rib injury) to miss some time.

Hamlin-Uele injured his rib in the opening minute of the game. He tried to play on and even received a needle at half time, but it didn’t work.

“It was off the kick off, looked like a shoulder charge to me,” Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon said.

“He kept playing but it got worse at half time. It’ll be cartilage.

Finucane is facing two weeks off after being charged for a dangerous throw on Blake Lawrie.

The Sharks skipper will miss two games with an early guilty plea or three matches if he unsuccessfully contests the charge at the judiciary.
