Tim Tszyu looks to continue his family’s proud history against Mexican fighters as he takes on Carlos Ocampo in the Aussie star defends his WBO interim super-welterweight title for the first time.
Tszyu claimed the belt by finishing former world champion Tony Harrison in March after his fight against undisputed super-welterweight champ Jermell Charlo was delayed.

Although Tszyu had hoped to take on Charlo in the American summer, the champ was not ready to fight yet so the Aussie elected to risk his mandatory status once again.
The fight on Sunday at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre marks the first time Tszyu has faced a Mexican opponent.
However, his father Kostya enjoyed a 5-0 record against Mexican rivals including a win over Julio Cesar Chavez, a boxer considered to be Mexico’s greatest fighter.
On the Tszyu v Ocampo undercard, Sam Goodman faces his toughest to date as he takes on Ra’eese Aleem in an IBF super-bantamweight world title eliminator.
Goodman beat former world champion TJ Doheny in his last outing to make it 14 wins in as many fights.
However, Aleem is 20-0 as a professional and won the WBA interim super-bantamweight world title in 2021 so Goodman will have to take himself to a whole new level if he is to win.
