Liam Wilson has been forced to withdraw from his bout against Eduardo Ramirez due to an injury sustained in training.
Wilson (11-2, 7KO) was due to face Ramirez (27-3-3, 12KO) on the undercard of Tim Tszyu’s interim world title fight against Carlos Ocampo on June 18.

However, his return to the ring has been delayed in what is a bitter blow given he would have been fighting in his home state of Queensland.
Wilson was coming off a controversial TKO defeat to Mexican star Emmanuel Navarette in a super featherweight world title fight back in February.
The contest was shrouded in chaos as early as the weigh-ins when Wilson tipped the scales 2kg under the 59kg super featherweight limit while Navarette barely made weight.
It led to major accusations of scale tampering and cheating and added plenty of spice to Wilson’s first world title clash.

However, the Aussie looked at home underneath the bright lights of the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona against his fancied rival.
Wilson knocked Navarette to the canvas with a thundering left hook in the fourth round, but Navarette was given a staggering 27 seconds to recover.
The Mexican even spat out his mouth guard to chew up precious seconds.
Unfortunately Wilson was eventually stopped in the ninth round by the unbeaten Navarette as the latter secured a world title in his third weight division.
A new date for Wilson’s return is set to be announced in the coming weeks as he plots a return to the world title picture.
