Aussie tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis’ secret is out with his new girlfriend revealing the pair have been quietly seeing each other.
The Adelaide product stepped out in public with partner Hannah Dal Sasso in Melbourne this week — the first time they have been spotted.
The Herald Sun reports the pair attended a gala event ahead of this weekend’s Formula 1 Grand Prix at Albert Park.
Sasso, a Melbourne-based content creator and social media influencer, has confirmed they are seeing each other.
“We met a few months ago,’’ she said.
“I’ve been travelling with him for a bit.”
Dal Sasso attended the Miami Open last week where Kokkinakis was knocked out in the second round. He was also competing at Indian Wells in California earlier this month before he was eliminated by world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.
The pair reportedly landed back in Australia just one day before Wednesday’s Glamour on the Grid event.
Kokkinakis has a track record of desperately trying to keep his private life out of the headlines — something he has largely been able to enjoy since close friend Nick Kyrgios’ infamous sledge in 2015.
At the time Kyrgios suggested to Stan Wawrinka that Kokkinakis had “banged” his then-girlfriend Donna Vekic.
Kokkinakis last week had to quickly shut down a social media storm when an innocent tweet sent romance rumours buzzing.
The Aussie tennis pin-up had fans overreacting when he posted a simple but sweet message about Elena Rybakina after she won the Indian Wells WTA title.
“Rybakina looks like the nicest girl ever,” Kokkinakis tweeted as Rybakina accepted the trophy.
After fans ran wild in the comments, he was forced to add a few minutes later: “Not having a crack (crying laughing emoji) relaaaax.”
