Zerafa claims Tszyu rival ‘makes easy work of Timmy’, predicts ‘shocking KO’ finish

Michael Zerafa believes Tony Harrison will make “easy work” of Tim Tszyu in their world title bout and predicted the American will triumph via a “shocking knockout.”

Tszyu (21-0, 15KO) will take on Harrison (29-3-1, 21KO) for the interim super welterweight title on March 12, with the winner to face undisputed champ Jermell Charlo for all of the marbles later this year.

Charlo was set to take on Tszyu in January earlier this year but the champ withdrew after he broke his hand during sparring, with Harrison stepping up to the plate.

Harrison represents Tszyu’s most daunting prospect to date considering he is the only man to have beaten Charlo, but Tszyu has presented a quietly confident figure in all of the lead-up to date.

However, Zerafa, who was pencilled in for a fight with Tszyu in July two years ago before sensationally pulling out just days from the bout, believes the American will prove to be too much for the first-time world title challenger.

“Credit to Tim Tszyu for taking a fight at that level,” Zerafa told Boxing BLVD.

“I think styles make fights and Harrison is going to be a little bit too much for him.

“As another Aussie, I hope he does well. I want Australia to be put on the map and when it is my time to fight for a world title I hope they get behind me, but I truly believe he is not ready for that yet.

“I think it goes down as a shocking knockout, because Tszyu doesn’t have much defence, he doesn’t have a tight defence, he tries to walk forwards and Harrison is a technician, he picks his shots.

“[Harrison] beat Charlo. One of the biggest, if not the biggest, punchers in the division and an absolute beast.

“He schooled him, I think if the right Harrison rocks up I think he makes easy work of Timmy.

“Just the experience, just the style of him is just another level.”
