Night one of WWE’s return to normality lived up to the billing.

Bianca Belair defeated Sasha Banks in a spectacular main event to night one of WrestleMania 37. It immediately goes down one of the best main events in WrestleMania history.

It was the first time two women had main evented a WrestleMania in a singles match, and the first time two African-American women had faced off for a world title on the biggest show of the year.

In the semi-main, recording artist Bad Bunny made one of the greatest in-ring debuts in pro wrestling history, looking completely at ease in a victorious tag team performance.

The start of the show was delayed due to a weather delay, with storms in the Tampa area forcing fans undercover.

Heavy rain and winds impacted the pirate ship on the Mania set and fans weren’t allowed in their seats as scheduled.

Once the show began, Vince McMahon and the WWE roster came out on stage to welcome fans back and America The Beautiful was performed, but then the delay began, with wrestlers cutting spontaneous promos backstage.

Elsewhere on the card, Shane McMahon had his yearly fall off a tall thing in a Steel Cage match against Braun Strowman.

In the opener, Drew McIntyre lost his title bout with Bobby Lashley. It was a major shock, given McIntyre was robbed of his chance to celebrate a WWE title victory last year due to the pandemic, and the entire story of the match was how fans were desperate to celebrate with him.
