Tune into our new show Fox League Live on Channel 502 Monday to Friday at 6.30pm and on Saturday at 3pm and Sunday at 5pm.

Former league player turned WWE wrestler Daniel Vidot has reflected on his debut after he completed his unlikely rise from professional footballer to take on Sheamus, one of the biggest names in the game.

Vidot played over 100 games for the Broncos, Dragons and Raiders.

He decided to ditch his footballing career three years ago and try his hand in WWE.

In his opening match, he lost to Sheamus as part of Saturday morning’s Smackdown.

But despite the defeat, the Australia couldn’t wait to get back in the ring.

“The feeling was absolutely amazing and I’m hungry for more” he told Nine News.

“I’m grateful and happy that I got to get in the ring with Sheamus and get a proper feeling of WWE.

Many had suggested that Vidot’s switch could not be done.

But now he has faced one of WWE’s biggest stars.

He admits that he is some way from being a regular fixture on television, but said he was happy to prove his doubters wrong.

“My message is, if they say it can’t be done, do it,” he added.
